What People Experience in my classes:
I tailor my classes, private, group, children, family and adult, to meet the levels and goals of each student. I believe in creating an open, fun, creative environment where people of all ages and abilities can join together, learn, create, have fun and make new friends in the process. I teach a variety of wheel thrown and handbuilding techniques and encourage students to explore the medium. I also teach a variety of surface decoration techniques based on the interests of the class. Each semester ends with a themed potluck – an opportunity to use our handmade wares, share good food and celebrate our accomplishments and friendships.

“Ceramics with Pam Church at the Washington Art Association is one of the most engaging studio art classes I have ever taken. Pam creates a great environment in which to learn and explore, while furthering your personal artistic journey. I have taken multiple ceramic glasses with Pam, and can’t wait for the next one.”

“I have been taking ceramics with Pam for as many years as she has been teaching at WAA. She is a skilled artist who can work you through pretty much any technical problem, and her informal approach creates a non-judgmental, relaxed studio atmosphere that is good for keeping the creative juices flowing. There is always somewhere new to go…..”

“Pam Church is a terrific teacher, She encourages experimentation and freedom while also giving her students a firm grounding and advice and assistance. I walked in to the pottery studio full of trepidation almost ten years ago, and haven't walked out. It's a joy to take a class with Pam. I think the learning goes both ways, too and it has been a pleasure to see the way her work has evolved over the years. “
